Symbolized by a simple pink ribbon, Pink October (or known as Pinktober) which was founded in 1985 by the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical company now known as AstraZeneca, aims to raise awareness of breast cancer among women and to encourage them to step up their efforts in early detection of cancer as well as signs and symptoms.
According to the World Health Organisation’s Global Cancer Observatory (Globocan) 2020 findings, among 25,587 cancer cases in women, about 32.9% of new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed. Breast cancer is the top cancer case among all single cancer types faced by women.
